About Us
Mission of Hope (MoH) is a not-for-profit, community organisation with a focus on health and community development.
MoH’s aim is to create a health and community development service that caters to the unique culturally-sensitive needs of the Australian Muslim population. It was developed, and is currently managed by Australian Muslim health and welfare professionals who are dedicated to increasing harmony in a culturally diverse community through health and community development, projects, seminars, workshops, and conferences.
All programs by MoH are designed and communicated in a culturally-competent manner to effectively meet the needs of the community. Click here to download an overview who we are and what we do.
MoH Self-Development seminars are held at various venues. Issues that are discussed include psychological health issues where seminars are tailored to suit the needs of the Muslim community. Recent seminar topics have included: self-esteem, goal setting, sexuality, anger management, depression, stress / anxiety and grief.
MoH Consultant or Guest Speaker can be made available for consultation or discussion on issues related to Muslims and Health and Welfare. MoH Working Group was established to address Muslim client/patient needs in the Health and Community Welfare mainstream services. Members of the Working Group include health and community welfare professionals.
MoH Parenting Classes: A parenting forum that will involve topics such as: behaviour management and modification techniques, communication techniques, children’s developmental stages, needs assessment, stress management, etc that will give practical strategies for parents. Emphasis will be also targeting parenting for single parents.
MoH Working Group Initiatives are being developed by the Working Group to address issues facing Muslims who enter mainstream services, as well as providing training seminars on how to deal and better understand Muslim clients/patients to health and community welfare organisations. This will aid health care and welfare providers to understand the role of religion in Islamic health and welfare practices.
