AUSTRALIAN MUSLIMS MAKE MOOLAH FOR MELBOURNE
Sydney, NSW February 16 2009--- Mission of Hope, will be running a “Family Fun Day BBQ” on Saturday 21st February to raise funds for the victims of the Victorian Bushfires. It will be held at Paul Keating Park in Bankstown and all proceeds will go to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Mission of Hope’s President, Hanan Dover stated, “The tragedy experienced by the Victorian communities devastated by the bushfires has hit the heart of every Australian. We wish to assist in relieving their sufferings and providing them with some hope by doing our bit to assist our neighbours”.
Franklins, the supermarket chain, have donated all condiments for the barbecue in addition to access to their local cool room for the day. Rabih Khalil from Khalil and Sons PTY will be donating all the meat and coordinated several other businesses to come together and support the appeal. “You just can’t sit down and do nothing to help the victims of this great tragedy and I wanted to make sure I did my part to assist” said Mr Khalil.
Principal of Punchbowl Boys High School, Jihad Dib, will be bringing his students and providing in-kind support to assist in making the day a success. The boys will be manning the barbecues and helping through the day.
Mission of Hope is an Australian Muslim health promotion charity organisation. All money donated at the event will be tax deductible and Mission of Hope will not deduct any monies to cover the costs of the event.

Mission of Hope Tax Deductibility Endorsement
Mission of Hope (MoH) is a Not-for-Profit, independent, community organisation established to provide Health and Welfare services on behalf of the Muslim Community. Health is defined by MoH as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being.
Since its inception, MoH has been providing ongoing health and welfare awareness programs to the general public, community organisations, and specialised government departments.
MoH is administered by its Executive Committee, comprised of 10 qualified professionals currently working within the health and community welfare sector. It also has a current Working Group of 150 volunteers.
On the 27th of April 2007, the Australian government granted MoH with ‘Deductible Gift Recipient’ status (DGR). Therefore MoH is now officially endorsed as a Tax Deductible charity organisation. Our success in achieving DGR status came through strict adherence to government compliance, hard work, and recognition of MoH’s work in the community.
We are proud to announce that MoH is currently the first and only Australian Muslim Health organisation to be granted DGR status. This means you are now entitled to a tax deduction when you donate to support MoH’s work in the community. The support we receive through your generous donations successfully fund and manage so many programs, professional services and special work that directly help those in need in our community.
